Carson Boyle, a 9-year old was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2014, but after many surgeries, he’s now cancer free, a survivor.
Carson has been a cancer survivor since January, but always stands a chance to have cancer come back over the years… the cancer would form in his lymph nodes.
This was when the Boyle’s family decided to have Carson’s wish of all time granted.

That’s where the Make-a-Wish foundation came in and the Pittsburgh Steelers when they gave him the chance to meet his all-time favorite, Ben Roethlisberger.
He might be just 9, but Carson has been the biggest Roethlisberger fan that he one year for his Thanksgiving school’s arts and crafts project, Carson made a “Ben RoethlisTURKEY” and Carson also has a huge football card collection too.
They say that Carson wasn’t outside running around and playing in the snow like the other kids were doing, Carson was playing with his Pittsburgh Steelers card collection.
So, with Carson’s Make-A-Wish, he not only got to meet his idol, he got to receive something priceless to him, signed Roeshtlisberger cleats. That’s a gift that the 9-year old cherished and like his mom, Jennifer Boyle said, “He wouldn’t let hotel room service in our room.”
So their meeting started with a nice limo ride to the Steelers facility and once he was there, Carson met with coaches and players, but his meting with Roethlisberger was one on one time.
Roethlisberger spent 20 minutes with his new friend and his mom said, “To Carson, there’s nothing bigger than meeting him and getting something autographed. He literally couldn’t even speak. He was speechless. The look on his face, he was just total amazement that he was there. [Ben] was really, really nice.”
His mom said that eventually, Carson asked Rosethlisberger questions… he found out his favorite team growing up was the 49ers and that his favorite player was Jerry Rice.
Rosethlisberger wasn’t his only treat, Carson got a visit from DeAngelo Williams too. Williams spent about the same time with Carson that Rosethlisberger spent with him too and even though Carson was still a little quiet still, he opened up quicker this time around.
Everyone knows that DeAngleo Williams is a huge advocate for Breast Cancer since he lost his mother and all his mother’s sisters to the disease over the years.
