In 2009, a project set to help out law enforcement was started called The Armor of God Project.
According to their website, “this project is a non-profit ministry dedicated to reaching the first responder community for the Gospel of Jesus Christ… is dedicated to protecting those that protect us. We recycle used ballistic vests and proved to officers.”
The project was developed in order to help provide the departments who cannot afford vests with donated vests in order to protect them.

The project’s website also tells us, “Thousands of law enforcement professionals in the United States and around the world are working in dangerous environments and they do not have a ballistic vest to protect them. In addition, thousands of officers are graciously provided new ballistic vests every five years. While the manufacturer warranty may be expired, often the vest will still effectively protect those that do not have one.”
When you visit their Facebook page, you will see the officers in various states receiving their donated vests along with the various departments who are donating boxes of vests.
There are testimonies of praises to the Armor of God Project on their Facebook page:

Just received my vest thank you for such a great service and helping protect myself and so many other LEO’s”

A huge thank you to the Armor of God Project! I received my vest today and it’s a perfect fit. I can’t express how much it means to my family to know that I wear the Armor of God when I go to work in this crazy unpredictable world. Thank you and God Bless!”
