Rihanna refuses therapy to get over emotional trauma

Rihanna refused to see a therapist after her February assault at the hands of ex-boyfriend Chris Brown — insisting she was raised to “figure it out and move on” alone.

Brown was sentenced to five years probation and community service as a result of a violent bust-up with the star nine months ago. He was also ordered to stay away from the Bajan beauty for the duration of his punishment.

The Umbrella hitmaker went into hiding in the aftermath of the attack but is finally back on the music scene with a new album.

After taking time off, the star insists she will not seek professional help to get over her emotional trauma.

She tells the New York Times, “Everyone wanted me to see a therapist to just talk about it, and I refused. In Barbados we don’t do that. We keep it in our family, and figure it out and move on. I just put my game face on and went on with my life.”
