I’m actually into odd names, but this might be pushing it.

BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse is giving expectant parents the chance to win a voucher for $10,000 worth of the chain’s food if they name their child Quinoa. Yup, you read that correctly. This is to promote the chain’s new additions of a roasted chicken with spinach quinoa bowl and roasted salmon quinoa bowl

BJ’s tweeted the following on Monday:

The winner will be chosen on Labor Day, and only one winner will be chosen, which is corny given the stipulations. Any parent bold (or crazy) enough to actually do this should get some kind of reward, if not a shrink.

For people who aren’t expecting, the restaurant chain is offering a coupon for $10 off a $35 coupon for anyone who changes their first name to Quinoa on Twitter.

The latter bit sounds easier. Free food could work wonders for anyone’s budget, so people might actually do it. Sure, parents could change the child’s name later on, but that process doesn’t even seem worth it.

Good luck explaining to the child why you chose that unfortunate name.
