Historic flooding and dangerous thunderstorms are putting more than 30-million Americans at risk this morning. Forecasters say torrential rains are creating extremely dangerous and potentially life-threatening conditions in the Houston area. More than 80-thousand people there have no electricity and floodwaters have closed a number of roads, including Interstate 10 and Interstate 45. Today’s forecast includes a strong chance of dangerous thunderstorms, hail, heavy rainfall, and possible tornadoes. The National Weather Service says flooding that’s brought death and destruction to Texas and Oklahoma could spread to a half-dozen other states today.
