(Miami, FL) — Police in North Miami Beach are under fire for using mugshots of black suspects for target practice. The practice was discovered by a Florida National Guard sergeant, who found a mugshot of her brother with bullet holes in it at a gun range. The man had served four years in prison in a fatal drag race as a teenager, but she said he had “turned his life around.” Police defended the sniper team, saying it included minority officers, that no racial profiling was involved and no policies were violated. None of the officers will be disciplined for the incident.
