Ms-Wheelchair-America-LogoMs. Wheelchair Texas, part of Ms. Wheelchair America, is proud to announce two former contestants who have been asked to participate as models for the first time in Houston Fashion Week. Deborah Grayson Carpenter and Meena Outlaw, Ms. Wheelchair Texas ambassadors and members of the National Spinal Cord Injury Association Houston, have been selected to hit the runway on October 9 as part of the Houston Fashion Week Couture Fashion Show.

Houston Fashion Week is Bayou City’s luxurious, high profile event celebrating the work of local fashion professionals through runway shows, exhibitions and networking opportunities. The elite week recognizes Houston based fashion powerhouse as well as highlighting international fashion designers whose merchandise is available in the greater Houston area.

The Ms. Wheelchair Texas Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization that strive to improve the lives of people with disabilities through its mission of advocacy and education. The Ms. Wheelchair Texas Gala is a part of Ms. Wheelchair America, which was established as a forum for the promotion of the achievements as well as the needs of the mobility impaired. The pageants are designed to select the most accomplished and articulate spokeswoman for the millions of disable Americans. Ms. Wheelchair holds numerous duties that include public appearances and travel, promoting awareness of the need to eliminate architectural and attitudinal barriers, educating Texans on disability issues and informing the public of the achievements of people with disabilities.
