A British man has some explaining to do after faking a kidnapping so he could stay at a party without his girlfriend. According to Britain’s Sky News, on Saturday, a 32-year old man in Manchester told his girlfriend he’d been kidnapped over a debt of around 80-dollars. The woman even spoke with the so-called kidnapper and exchanged text messages with him. Authorities launched a search for the man, scouring surveillance footage and cellular phone data. However, police later discovered that it was just a ruse so the man could enjoy a few more hours at a house party. He was fined for making the false claim.
