(HOUSTON) — Employee takes off running after manager confronts her about a stolen check written out for $50,000.

Suspect Ciody Reyes Carrasco, 22, allegedly broke into her employer’s locked asset area and stole three company checks according to the Houston Police Department.

Vice President of Savannah Home Builders, Karla Nieves, told police she was contacted by the president of her bank verifying a transaction to Global Motorcars of Houston of $50,000. Nieves, her husband, father, and mother are the only authorized signers on the account.

Global Motorcars of Houston confirmed Carrascos purchased a $90,000 black 2014 Nissan GTR. She told the dealership his manager would pay the remaining $30,000 balance with two more company checks later in the week.

Karla stated when she confronted Carrasco about the transaction, she took off running out of the business and got into the Nissan GTR with Texas paper plates 07j7847.  Karla also said when Carrasco was leaving in the vehicle, she got close to hitting her. Karla believes it was purpose.

HPD investigated the case and found visual evidence on Facebook. Officers was able to locate defendant’s Facebook page and identify the black nissan GTR with the same paper plates in a picture that was posted. The car was in front her listed Houston residence of 2310 Dorrington.

Officers then spoke to manager of the dealership who said he had her personal information from the auto sale and had kept contact with Carrasco.

Carrasco confirmed she would bring the car back to the dealership.
