In an appearance on Arsenio, Mississippi Hip-Hop artist David Banner delivered a brief, yet powerful Spoken Word piece that tackled racism and self-hatred in the Black community.

After saying “Rest in peace” to late Jackson, Miss. mayor Chokwe Lumumba, who was laid to rest Saturday morning, Banner talked about the original humans being Black, European beauty standards and the problematic nature of reality television — all in under one minute.
