The Houston Police Department wants you to pay more attention to what’s going on around you as a “March on Crime” gets underway.
HPD Public Affairs Officer Treva Mott says this campaign happens every year, “We’re heightening awareness. We do it every year around, but march is the month when we bring more awareness to it, as it relations to personal safety, as it relates to businesses.”
And Mott says they want people to be a little nosey, to look for activities that look suspicious, “We ask people, when they see something strange that’s going on, to call 9-11.”
Officer Mott says HPD’s public affairs team will take any available opportunity to speak to community groups and businesses, helping them to be more aware of criminal activities going on in their part of town.
