OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

‘Cleaning For a Reason’

Gives the Gift of a Clean Home

Non-profit Service Aims to Raise Awareness and

Ease the Burden of Cleaning for Cancer Patients during

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

American Cancer Society estimates approximately 800,000 American women will be diagnosed with cancer in 2013.  As the nation focuses on increasing awareness of breast cancer and raising funds for research during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a non-profit organization, Cleaning For A Reason, is helping make life a little easier for those battling the disease, one house cleaning at a time.

Cleaning for a Reason is helping to raise awareness throughout October for patients undergoing cancer treatments. Currently, there are more than 1,000 maid service partners in the U.S. and Canada who donate their time and services. They “bring meaning to cleaning” by providing nearly 13,000 free house cleanings. Free cleanings allow those undergoing the physical, emotional and financial rigors of cancer to focus on the fight of their lives and not household chores.

In interviews on Tuesday, October 8, Debbie Sardone, leading home cleaning expert and founder ofCleaning for a Reason will discuss how:

·         One phone call moved her to start helping those battling cancer

·         Her passion to serve grew into the mobilization of maid service partners to help women with cancer

·         The healing powers of being served can impact cancer treatment

·         Those, battling any form of cancer, can access professional housekeeping services
