Beyonce can now add an Emmy to her long list of awards and accomplishments.
According to reports, Queen Bey took home the award for “Outstanding Lighting Design/Lighting Direction for a Variety Special” for her awe-inspiring performance at the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show in February. The singer and her crew were presented the statue as a part of the Primetime Creative Arts Awards last weekend, held a week before the televised show.

We weren’t surprised that Bey won an award, but it was ironic hear she was recognized for best lighting design — seeing as many people blamed her high-wattage for the blackout at the New Orleans’ Mercedes-Benz Superdome the night.
The 15-minute halftime show was also nominated for “Outstanding Special Class — Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Program” and “Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video Control For A Miniseries, Movie or a Special.”
The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards will be telecast live on CBS Sunday, September 22.
