Did Brandy really play to an audience of only 40 people–and 89,960 empty seats–in South Africa? According to one report, she was embarrassed to the point of leaving the stage after just two songs!
Australia’s Perth Now reports Brandy was supposed to perform to a packed arena at the Mandela Sports and Culture Day last Saturday as a surprise guest. But, there was a problem: No one knew she was playing, and “[t]ens of thousands of people had therefore left the arena before she arrived on stage.”
According to the report:
“Brandy [just] performed to an empty stadium. With the stadium lights on,” tweeted South African musician, Kabomo.
“People didn’t know there was a concert after the games. No one knew Brandy was around. Maybe a 40 people audience … She sulked after two songs and walked off.
“There are more people there on a random Tuesday… Depressing.”
A TV station which was televising the event decided to cut the feed before Brandy appeared on stage after the crowd died down.
