For the majority of Americans, Thanksgiving is primarily about the company they keep. Spending time with those they hold dear is the most important aspect to the holiday for 91-percent of those taking part in a LowerMyBills.com survey. And nearly 20-percent are going to try to fit in visits with as many loved ones as possible by attending two Thanksgiving celebrations this Thursday. Three-quarters of those taking part in the holiday don’t anticipate going far for the event. Just under 40-percent say they’ll be traveling no more than 25 miles to get to their destination, while 37-percent won’t be leaving home — they’re hosting the big dinner. When it comes to the meal, 87-percent admit the traditional main attraction — turkey — is the most important dish. Stuffing and pie tie for second place on the list of importance with 67-percent pollsters split between the two. Nearly 60-percent are really looking forward to the mashed potatoes, and for 55-percent Thanksgiving just wouldn’t be complete without the cranberry sauce.
