Chris Brown is the latest victim of a “swatting” prank.
Los Angeles police rushed to Brown’s house on Monday after someone called in saying there was a domestic incident involving a gun.
Authorities tell celebrity gossip site TMZ.com that the caller reported that their parents were fighting when the father went to grab his gun. The caller told dispatchers the address and then hung up the phone without telling them it was Chris Brown’s house. Once authorities got to the scene it was clear they had been pranked because there was no evidence of a dispute, let alone an armed gunman.
So far it’s not known whether Brown was home when the prank occurred. Police say they are determined to apprehend the person who fooled them.
