California MC Kendrick Lamar‘s album good kid, m.A.A.d City is one of the most anticipated albums of 2012. Of the tracks people have heard, a track with Drake has gotten the biggest response. On the heels of the album’s due date, Kendrick drops the smooth jam “Poetic Justice.”

The song is great by itself, but what elevates it is the slinky Janet Jackson sample from her 1993 hit song “Anytime, Anyplace.” Drake spits that whisper-sweet-nothings-in-your-ear type flow while Kendrick tries to go there, but doesn’t have as much impact as Drake does. (I can’t believe I just wrote that sentence.)
