Jay-Z and Beyoncé can take their new “Forbes” status to the bank. The magazine has ranked the hip-hop power couple the world’s highest-paid celebrity couple with combined earnings of 78-million-dollars over the past year. Beyoncé holds a slight earnings lead over her hip-hop hubby with a reported 40-million-dollar income, according to “Forbes.” Jay-Z, meantime, banked about 38-million-dollars. Second on the list of highest-paid celebrity couples is the NFL-supermodel duo of Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen with 72-million dollars in combined earnings. Brady and Bundchen held the top spot last year. Former Spice Girl Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham and her soccer-playing husband David Beckham are third with a salary combo totalling 54-million-dollars.
“Forbes” used data recorded between May 1st, 2011 and May 1st, 2012 to compile its celebrity couple rich list. Also making the cut in the top five are Hollywood stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie at number four with a combined 45-million in earnings, and Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith at number five who earned 40-million-dollars between them over the yearlong period.
