(Manchester, England) — American women’s soccer goalie Hope Solo will not be disciplined after firing off a round of tweets over the weekend directed at former U.S. star Brandi Chastain. Solo was upset at Chastian’s critical comments of the U.S. defense as a commentator during NBC’s broadcast of the team’s 3-nil win over Colombia. Solo tweeted that Chastain should lay off commentating about defending until she becomes more educated and that the game has changed from a decade ago. Chastain famously scored the winning penalty-kick goal as the U.S. won the World Cup in 1999. The U.S. plays North Korea on Tuesday to decide matchups for the quarterfinals.
