The largest school district in Texas is looking to fill instructor positions for the 2012-2013 school year and beyond. The Houston Independent School District (HISD) needs 276 new teachers.
Interested persons who apply before July 31 could be eligible to teach this fall.
While the district needs instructors for a variety of positions, there are critical needs for teachers in math, high school science, English as a second language (ESL) and special education.
The starting salary for teachers is $44,987. Prospective instructors must have a Bachelor’s degree and a teaching certificate.
