Jaden Smith’s idea of a “Summertime” groove is very different from his father Will’s. On his new track “Gonzoes” the other performing Smith child offers up a decidedly dark, guitar driven beat with rebellious lyrics that belie a life of Hollywood privilege.

“Now Willow is the star, man, how weak is that?/ Pink hair, high socks, can’t compete with that,” Jaden raps. The song’s hook is “I’m gonzo, gonzo, I do what I wanna do, where I wanna do it, you stop me, I run through it,” yet he apologizes at the end for “coming off a bit hostile.”

Jaden has had several successful turns on the screen acting alongside his father (Pursuit Of Happyness) and solo (The Karate Kid)  and made his rap debut earlier this year with a song called “Give It To ‘Em.”    However, the song didn’t garner nearly as much attention as his sister’s hit “Whip My Hair.” Is there a good old fashioned sibling rivalry brewing?
