Police are searching for a man who stabbed an elderly couple in their garage in northwest Harris County Wednesday evening. According to reports the incident happened just after 9:00 p.m. at a home on Walters and Brimwood.
Harris County Sheriff’s officials say that the couple had driven their vehicle into the garage of their home and began unloading groceries. It was then that a man jumped them and stabbed them both.
The husband who is in his 70s, was stabbed multiple times and was last listed in critical condition. The wife was also stabbed multiple times and is said to be stable condition; she is in her 60s. Both the husband and wife were taken to Ben Taub Hospital. As authorities attempted to gather more information about the incident from the couple, they reportedly encountered a language barrier; the couple is of Asian-Pacific descent.
Neighbors indicate that the couple moved into the home six months ago and were in the process of remodeling their home. As police began to piece together clues and search for a suspect, they believe that the motive in the stabbing was robbery.
