The Miami Heat took advantage of a fatigued Celtics ball club and home court to draw first blood in their NBA playoff tilt. LeBron James scored 32 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, Dwyane Wade scored 22 points helping the Heat beat the Celtics 93-79 on Monday night in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals.

The only Celtics had a day of rest after putting away the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday. Kevin Garnett, playing like his old self in Minnesota, scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Boston, which got 16 points, nine rebounds and seven assists from Rajon Rondo and 12 points from Paul Pierce.

Miami’s Chris Bosh was on the Heat bench, but still remains out indefinitely with a lower abdominal strain. Game two is tomorrow night in Miami.
