The Tupac hologram appears to be taking on a life of its own with a Twitter account and talk of an upcoming tour with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, according to the Wall Street Journal. A source revealed that there will be discussions about a tour with the three performers. Possibilities range from a limited tour in smaller venues to a full-scale stadium tour involving other artists, with 50 Cent, Eminem, and Wiz Khalifa being named.

Afeni Shakur, Tupac’s mother, was “positively thrilled” with the Coachella performance as reported by TMZ. She wasn’t present at the massive music festival, but watched the live stream of the show. A representative for Afeni said that Dr. Dre asked for her approval to use Tupac’s image for the show, and she granted them. In return, Dre made a donation to Tupac’s charity, The Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation.

TMZ is also reporting that according to Dre’s crewmate Daz Dillinger, rapper Nate Dogg (who passed away last year and was widely rumored to be the hologram) was originally set to perform as the projection, but was switched for Tupac at the last minute. Nate Dogg was instead given a video tribute during the performance.
