According to investigators, a four-year-old boy who disappeared from his front yard has been found dead. Kylar Johnson was playing in his front yard on Old Goliad Road near Village Lane in Quail Creek, Texas. He was last seen at 8 p.m. Sunday after the boy’s father said he was cleaning his car. Reports indicate that when the father looked up, the boy had vanished.

Deputies and volunteers immediately began searching for four-year-old Kylar. Detectives said Kylar’s body was found at approximately 10:00 A.M. Monday morning. Authorities said that a homeowner found Kylar’s body in his back yard near a group of pit bulls that were chained in the yard. The neighbor’s yard that housed the dogs was searched but nothing was found. The dogs were reportedly not raised for fighting, but they were used for wild hog hunting. The dog found near Kylar’s body was seized.

With Kylar’s home located about a half of a mile from where his body was found, investigators are not certain how the boy traveled there. Relatives of the child thanked law enforcement, volunteers and the media for helping in the search for Kylar. They later asked for time to grieve for the loss of the child. It is believed although not confirmed, that the child may have been mauled to death by pit bulls. The exact cause of Kylar’s death is under investigation.
