Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg made his “awesome announcement” today as promised telling users that the site is now offering a video chat feature.

Around 10 a.m. PST (1 p.m. EST) at the company’s headquarters in Paolo Alto, California, Facebook announced a partnership with Skype that will integrate video chat directly into the site’s platform.

While not confirmed, there are reports that the site will offer the widely popular group chats.

Further information is forthcoming and a select number of users were given an invitation to the attend today’s live event.
