A new biography about Oprah Winfrey is due to hit book shelves tomorrow. Written by Kitty Kelley, “Oprah” is being released by Crown Publishing. But not everyone is eager to talk about the upcoming book. Kelley tells NBC’s “Today” there’s a long list of people who’ve turned down interviews with her, so as to not offend Oprah. She says the list includes names like Barbara Walters, Larry King and others.
The upcoming book of details about the queen of daytime talk, including an allegation that the media mogul once had a relationship with musician and TV host John Tesh in the mid 1970s. Kelley’s book further alleges that Tesh — who was the host of “Entertainment Tonight” from 1986 to 1996 — ended the relationship with Winfrey due to the “social pressure” surrounding being an interracial couple at the time. Angela DePaul, a rep from Winfrey’s camp, said Oprah is not commenting on Kelley’s book.
