I was really hoping that the University of Texas Longhorns would beat the Alabama Crimson Tide for the BCS National Championship.

It was looking good for them when UT intercepted a fake pass on Alabama’s first drive. That lead to a Longhorn field goal. They followed that up by recovering the kickoff and looked poised to put the Tide away early.

But, when All-American QB Colt McCoy went out with a shoulder injury later on that drive I began to worry. Sure enough McCoy didn’t return to the game and ‘Bama held off the Horns for a 37-21 victory.

Looking on the sidelines during the game I was wondering if Vince Young could suit up because he does have a year of eligibility left since he left UT after his Junior year. That was wishful thinking.
