(Deltona, FL) — Deputies in Volusia County, Florida say a suspect used a baby as a kind of human shield and dared officers to quote, “Tase the baby” when they tried to arrest him. The incident began in DeBary last Friday when 39-year-old Jorge Garcia allegedly confronted deputies who pulled over another vehicle. The officers were able to wrestle the baby away from the man but finally used their Tasers to take Garcia in custody. He faces charges of child abuse without harm and resisting arrest. The baby wasn’t injured.
