An 11th grade math teacher in Nashville, Tennessee has been fired after having an emotional meltdown in front of students.

According to published reports, Donald Wood began acting out erratically in class after his students were being disrespectful and not allowing him to teach the lesson of the day.

The incident at McGavock High School was recorded by a student using a cell phone, and at first glance seems like a joke until the teacher is shown yelling while throwing tables and chairs.

“You know who has the power?” Wood asked. “I do, now shut up.”

After the kids continued to taunt and talk, the frazzled teacher seemed to lose it.

“You want to keep talking, huh?” Wood shouted as he flipped over a table. “I’m tired of you kids. Oh you think this is funny, well you know who started the fire in the bathroom—I did!”

Wood, who has been a teacher for 17-years, was cuffed and removed from school grounds.

Witnesses told local News Channel 5 that Wood shouted profanities at resource officers and students in the hall as he was escorted out.

School officials said Wood suffered from an apparent nervous breakdown.
