“He didn’t say a word or make a sound. He just looked at me,” said the woman, who requested she not be identified.
The woman held a surprise birthday party for a friend at her home in the Trailwood subdivision in Kingwood on Sept. 12. After all the guests went home, the woman said she went upstairs to her bedroom and her daughter and a friend went into another bedroom.
Hours later, the woman suddenly opened her eyes and saw a man she didn’t know standing by her bed.
“I just started screaming, and when he grabbed me I thought he would possibly rape me,” the woman said.
The woman said her screams and her daughter’s screams made the man back off and run out of the house.
The woman said she realized the man got into her home through a door left unlocked by a party guest.
“We never use that door, but we apparently never checked it that night,” the woman said.
The woman said she got a good look at the man.
“The sketch is very close,” she said.
The man was described as Hispanic, in his 20s and about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a solid build.
