A California gynecologist is being taken to court for personalizing part of a woman’s anatomy.  According to “The Smoking Gun,” Ingrid Paulicivic has filed a lawsuit against Dr. Red Alinsod for branding her first name into her uterus.  Paulicivic — who had her uterus removed in June 2009 — learned of Alinsod’s actions during a follow-up visit when she complained of burns to her legs.  Alinsod provided Paulicivic with photos of the procedure, one of which reportedly showed him writing on the 47-year-old’s uterus.  Alinsod has since claimed that his unorthodox behavior was just a “friendly gesture,” while Paulicivic says she had never met him prior to her first consultation.  Paulicivic’s lawsuit, which alleges battery and medical negligence, claims that there was no medical purpose for branding her name into her recently-removed body part.
