Houston Police have released a sketch of a man they’re calling a “person of interest” in the shooting death of a 14-year-old girl.

Shatavia Anderson was robbed and killed less than 100 yards from her family’s apartment in the 1100 block of Langwick Drive on Saturday, police said. Police said the crime happened at about 12:30 a.m. as the teen walked to the intersection of Greens Road and Wayforest with a friend and a relative of the friend.

In her home stretch alone on Langwick, Anderson was robbed of her cell phone and other items.

Not knowing who killed her makes things that much harder, her family said.

Her grandmother Loranza Anderson pleaded for someone to come forward.

“Somebody had to see something,” said Loranza Anderson. “We need help.”

Help might come in the form of a composite sketch. The drawing is that of a Hispanic male, who is 5 feet 9 inches tall and in his late 20s or early 30s.
