A politician in Minnesota is apologizing following an embarrassing arrest earlier this month. The “Minneapolis Star Tribune” is reporting that New Prague City Council Member Ken Betterton was arrested on July 9th after police found him drunk on his knees in the grass. During the arrest, authorities asked for the phone number of Betterton’s wife who is a Minnesota state trooper. The 55-year-old reportedly replied, quote, “Yeah, 1-800 eat my ass.” Betterton was taken to a detox center in New Ulm, allegedly delivering a profanity-laced tirade on the way. Betterton cited for disorderly conduct and says he’s very sorry for his behavior. He remarks, quote, “It is very painful and embarrassing,” adding, quote, “I will apologize to the citizens of New Prague and have already apologized to the Police Department.”
