HOUSTON — While the Houston area is not expected to see a repeat of Friday’s massive amount of rain, you’ll still need to keep your umbrella handy Saturday, 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez said.

Saturday afternoon will see a 80-percent chance for rain as temperatures heat up.

“We do see temperatures in the upper-80s today,” Gomez said. “That will trigger the showers.”

There is a 50-percent chance for rain on Sunday, which drops down to 30 percent during the evening.

“We hope that most of the rain is over before the fireworks begin,” Gomez said.
