(Undated) —  The guy starring in TV’s buzzed-about Old Spice ads is getting a deal with a major network.  Variety.com reports that Isaiah Mustafa — the actor who’s peddled Old Spice in its “The Man Your Man Could Smell Like” ads — has inked a deal with NBC.  The agreement will likely involve Mustafa’s appearances on several existing shows and possible casting in a pilot for the Peacock network.  Prior to his commercial career, Mustafa played pro football.  From 1997 through 2000, the Arizona State University graduate wore jerseys for the Seattle Seahawks, the Oakland Raiders, the Cleveland Browns, and a team in Barcelona, Spain.

Universal Casting Vice President Grace Wu says she’s glad NBC is getting a chance to cultivate Mustafa’s talent.  Wu says, quote, “We felt he was a piece of talent worth developing.  He’s an attractive guy who’s just as funny and charming.”
