Pop star Nick Jonas and Houston rapper Chamillionaire are pledging their support to the U.S. armed forces by playing a free show in Fort Hood following the fatal shootings at the army base last month.

The local community was left in shock when Major Nidal Hasan, an army psychiatrist, opened fire on his comrades at the country’s largest army post on Nov. 5, killing 13 and injuring more than 20 others.

Hasan has since been charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder.

The free concert, which will also feature the Zac Brown Band, Dana Carvey and Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band, is aimed at lifting spirits in the devastated town.

The event at the Hood Stadium on Friday will also feature free food, carnival games and rides and other entertainment.

Jonas Brother star Nick will perform as Nick Jonas & the Administration, an offshoot group he formed earlier this year.
