Texas QB Colt McCoy who has lead the Longhorns to a 13-0 record and a berth in the BCS Championship game heads the group for college football’s most prestigious player of the year award.
Also nominated are Florida QB Tim Tebow who won the award in 2007, Alabama RB Mark Ingram, Stanford RB Toby Gerhart, and Nebraska DE Ndamukong Suh.
The Heisman Trophy will be awarded Saturday at 8 p.m. on ESPN. The presentation ceremony has been televised since 1981 and since 1982 at least three players have been invited to attend.
