District attorney Bonnie Dumanis dismissed charges against the El Cajon, California cop who fatally shot Alfred Olango last year. Dumanis said the officer was "justified" during his encounter with the unarmed Black married father of two. Olango's family has condemned the decision and vowed to continue fighting for justice.

Alfred Olango was not mentally ill, but suffered from a mental breakdown over the death of a close friend when he was fatally shot by police, his family alleged at a presser on Thursday.

At a news presser, Chief Jeff Davis said Olango was pointing a vaping device at police when he was shot and killed near a strip mall outside of San Diego.
