Despite having scored 0.0 points, dishing out 0.0 assist & grabbing 0.0 rebounds Houston Rocket SG Tracy McGrady is only trailing L.A. Laker SG Kobe Bryant in All-Star balloting out of all NBA guards. He has garnered over 9,000 votes more than Phoenix Sun PG Steve Nash. All of this even though McGrady has yet to play a game this season while recovering from from microfracture knee surgery. Most analyst are crediting McGrady’s surge in votes to China where he is just as popular as his longtime Rocket teammate Yao Ming.
The NBA All-Star game is scheduled to be played Feb. 14, 2010 in Cowboy Stadium. Cowboy Stadium is located in Arlington, TX about 20 minutes north of Dallas. The state of the art, retractable roof NFL facility opened this year. Other events of the All-Star weekend, including the Rookie Challenge and NBA All-Star Saturday Night festivities, will take place at a more traditional basketball venue – the Dallas Mavericks’ American Airlines Center.
