i agree with A_Gliv…im from NY and i been to H-Town..this song truly sux…empire state of mind spelled out NY..and everybody knows about these lights will inspire you referring to times square…nothing like in houston…concret jungle referring to all the skyscrapers and tall buildings…if you are going to rep your city do it correctly do your research to where u live…map it out like jay and keys did…other wise do rap about where u from if you going to use the same hook…

Sorry,if you think Im a hater, ILL BE THAT. This song SUCKS, I dont care if Brandi is a good singer, fine whatever–she chose a bad song to sing on. BE ORIGINAL. If you really want to rep H-town, the music should at least reflect the essence of Htown, the music in Empire State of Mind reaks New York thats why its a good song. They didnt even change the lyrics on the hook to rep the city “It’ll make you feel brand new/downtown will inspire you” No ma’am and no sir. WE are not a fast city, we a slow city, we chill and get that money. Id be embarrassed if it get any airplay anywhere else. Thats song does not rep my city and it damn sure dont make me crunk about h town like the original song does for NY–Im hype like Im from NY when I hear it. I agree, STEP YA GAME UP and please BE ORIGINAL!

Im glad and blessed I can say I come from BOTH spectrums, Mom from Htwn. and daddy from the Bronx, raised in VA,Dc Area..I know what live bands and live music come from, I grew up listening to down south rap, underground rap not this kiddy,homemade sounding music…PLEASE step ur game up..theres sooo much good rap out there that Htwn just dont play on the radio or in the clubs IM soo dissapointed..when I go home the music be on point on all levels from posative music to bouncin ur ass and poppin that (fill in ur own word) but yes Htwn is getting clowned but keep doing what u do, MUSIC IS ART!
