Man Calls 911 For A Towel, Hug

A bizarre 911 call landed an Oregon man in jail last weekend. KPTV.com is reporting that Mark Eskelsen was arrested last Saturday after he broke into a hot tub at the Four Seasons Rec Center in Beaverton. Eskelsen — who claimed to be in the tub for ten hours — called the emergency number and told the dispatcher he needed a towel. He then remarked, quote, “I need a hug, you know, a warm cup of hot chocolate with some marshmallows in it.” When police arrived, Eskelsen admitted to being in possession of a needle and a syringe. Authorities eventually found marijuana and a pipe in his backpack. Eskelsen has been charged with criminal trespassing and improper use of 911.
