According to USAToday.com, The Underground Freedom Railroad Center, in Cincinnati, is facing financial hardship due to large cutbacks in their budget and funding from local and state institutions. The center’s focus is on telling the stories of abolitionists from the Underground Railroad, but they have recently expanded to included contemporary slavery and human-trafficking.

Fat Pat aka Patrick Lamark Hawkins was born on December 4, 1970 and was killed February 3, 1998. Fat Pat was also in the group, DEA (Dead End Alliance). He was also in the group with his brother John "Big Hawk" Hawkins and DJ Screw. All whom have passed. 75 MPH Speed Limits In Texas?

On some highways in Texas we're going to be seeing higher speed limits. The last legislative session gave the Texas Department of Transportation the ok to establish 75 mph speed limits on certain roads where it can be done safely. Some areas where the speed limits are being raised are near Houston. It's segments of I-10 and I-45 leading out of Houston, as well as I-35 and other highways in the state. The speed limit signs will be made over the next 90 days. In the meantime, continue at the normal speed limit. Read more..

The origins of the Globetrotters took place in the South Side of Chicago, Illinois in the 1920s, where all the original players grew up.

The Globetrotters were initially a serious competitive team, and despite a flair for entertainment, they would only clown for the audience after establishing a safe lead in the game.

The Harlem Globetrotters are an exhibition basketball team that combines athleticism, theater and comedy.

Over the years they have played more than 20,000 exhibition games in 118 countries. Brother Bones’s whistled version of “Sweet Georgia Brown” is the team’s signature song.
