Man Brings Home “Female Visitor,” Wife Arrested

Police in Indian River County, Florida say a local woman didn’t appreciate her husband bringing home another woman. Marian Searchwell was arrested on January 26th after she allegedly left abrasions on her spouse’s neck. TCPalm.com says Searchwell was in her bedroom when her husband came home with a “female visitor.” The husband then asked Searchwell to leave the room so they could “use the bed.” Searchwell refused, prompting her spouse to allegedly pick her up and move her. Searchwell reportedly responded by grabbing her husband’s shirt and neck. She is now facing a charge of misdemeanor domestic battery.

Man Gets 45 Days In Jail For Light Saber Attack

An Oregon man will be spending the next few weeks behind bars for getting out of hand at a Toys R Us. According to “The Oregonian,” David Allen Canterbury was in Multnomah County Circuit Court Monday where he pleaded no contest to fourth-degree assault and resisting arrest. Canterbury’s legal troubles started on December 14th when he swung light sabers at three customers in Toys R Us. Canterbury then ran outside and began swinging the light sabers at police. Officers tried to use a Taser on the 33-year-old, but he was able to deflect their shot with his light saber. Canterbury was eventually wrestled to the ground and taken into custody.

Canterbury is now sentenced to 45 days in jail, two years of probation, and a mental-health evaluation. On Monday, Canterbury said he’s already seeking mental-health treatment and apologized to the victims.

Melanie Brown Hints At Spice Girls Summer Reunion

(Undated) – Scary, Sporty, Baby, Posh and Ginger could soon be getting the the gang back together to help add some spice to Queen Elizabeth’s upcoming Diamond Jubilee. Melanie Brown, a.k.a. Scary Spice, revealed during an interview on Australian TV this week that fans of the Spice Girls should be looking for a reunion show at Her Majesty’s 60th anniversary party this summer. The Jubilee is scheduled for June 4th, but Brown didn’t offer any more details. In fact, “The Sun” reports she told the crew backstage she’d likely be in trouble for the hint since, quote, “it’s all so totally bloody top-secret still.”

Brown and the rest of the Spice Girls — Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Melanie Chisholm — last performed together on the Return of the Spice Girls Tour in 2007.

Tyson Makes WWE HOF

(Stamford, CT) – Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson is set to be inducted into a second Hall of Fame. World Wrestling Entertainment has announced that Tyson will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on March 31st in Miami, one night before WrestleMania 28. He’s made numerous appearances in the ring for WWE since 1998, and will be enshrined in the celebrity wing. Tyson was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame last June.

Real Life Tarzan!

A former supermarket security guard is living the life of his boyhood hero. The U.K.’s “Orange” news says DeWet Du Toit has moved from England to Africa to live like Tarzan. The 24-year-old says he became obsessed with Tarzan as a child while living in Namibia. He now spends three nights a week living in the African jungle eating fruits and insects. Du Toit spends the rest of the week residing at his parent’s home in South Africa. Du Toit is filming his life in the jungle with the hopes that he may be able to land a role in a Tarzan movie. But while he’s enjoying life in the wild, Du Toit says there is something missing. He remarks, quote, “It does get lonely – I would love to find a Jane to help me pass the time.”

Breast Implants Save Life!

A Florida woman is very thankful that she chose to get breast implants. WESH.com is reporting that the woman’s implants saved her life when she was stabbed by her ex-fiancé’s new girlfriend. The victim says she was outside her ex’s Melbourne apartment earlier this month when Amy Winter allegedly started scratching her car with a pocket knife. Winter then stabbed the woman several times in the left side of her chest. The knife wound up puncturing her implant, which doctors say contained just enough saline to prevent the knife from piercing her chest. Fortunately for the victim, the manufacturer of the implants has agreed to cover the cost of a replacement.

“Welcome Back Kotter” Star Robert Hegyes Dead At 60

(Edison, NJ) – The Sweathogs are in mourning. Robert Hegyes, best known for playing Juan Epstein on TV’s “Welcome Back Kotter,” has died.

The New Jersey “Star Ledger” says Hegyes passed away after suffering a heart attack Thursday. He was 60. Playing proud “Puerto Rican-Jew” Juan Epstein in “Kotter,” Hegyes was a member of James Buchanan High School’s misfit class known as the Sweathogs. The primary group also included Sweathog heartthrob and leader Vinnie Barbarino, played by a young John Travolta; basketball rep and bass pretender Freddie “Boom Boom” Washington, played by Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs; and class clown Arnold Horshack, played by Ron Palillo. Gabe Kaplan played the Sweathogs’ teacher Gabe Kotter for whom the show was titled.

“Welcome Back Kotter” aired from 1975 to 1979 on ABC. Hegyes also directed several of the show’s episodes. His later acting credits included TV’s “Cagney & Lacey.”

A South African strip club is helping men lie to their better half. According to the “Metro,” Mavericks has created a line of scents called “Alibi” which smell like several different lies men can tell women after a night of lap dances. ”My Car Broke Down” combines the smells of fuel, burnt rubber and grease, while “I Was Working Late” smells like coffee, wool suits, and cigarettes. ”Alibi” retails for 37-dollars a bottle, and Mavericks’ head Shane Harrison says “men seem desperate to get their hands on this stuff.”

(Houston, TX) — Forbes lists the Houston Rockets as the seventh most valuable NBA team. The numbers are based on the new collective bargaining agreement and television deals. The Rockets are worth 453-million-dollars, while the San Antonio Spurs ranked number nine with a 418-million-dollar value. The Dallas Mavericks came in at number four on the list with a 497-million-dollar value, but the NBA champs couldn’t top the Los Angeles Lakers who are the most valuable at 900-million.

NBA Great Mutombo Tied To Congo Gold Scam

(Undated) – Former NBA great Dikembe Mutombo is being implicated in a shady gold deal involving a Congo warlord. ABC News reports a United Nations investigation found Mutombo, along with a Houston-based oil company owner and another investor, planned to buy a thousand pounds of gold from mines in the Democratic Republic of Congo, in central Africa. They expected to resell it for ten-million dollars. Mutombo and the other investors never received the gold, and UN officials say millions of dollars ended up in the hands of a militia leader wanted for war crimes by the International Criminal Court in the Hague.

UN investigators say they believe Mutombo was unaware of the warlord’s involvement in the deal. However, they say he should have looked into the matter further before going ahead with the investment. The seven-foot-two Mutombo previously played for the Houston Rockets and the Atlanta Hawks. He’s also been involved in several humanitarian projects in his native Congo.

Woman, 28, Deemed Too Old To Wear Sexy Outfits

Club managers in one U.K. town apparently believe that, at age 28, Lisa Woodman is simply too old to be wearing the sexy outfits she’s been wearing to their clubs. According to the “Daily Mail,” Woodman has been banned from all three clubs in Worcester, West Midlands. The mother of four says she’s just looking to have a good time, noting that her outfits aren’t as revealing as those worn by younger women in the club. One of the nightclub executives defended their decision, saying they have a “responsible door policy” and “reserve the right to refuse entry for anyone.”

Man Arrested After Smoking Pot On Airplane

(Newark, NJ) – A Los Angeles man is facing criminal charges after trying to make his way into a different type of Mile High Club. MyFoxNY.com reports Adam Blumenkranz allegedly smoked pot on a flight from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Newark, New Jersey on Monday. The crew on the JetBlue flight first became suspicious of Blumenkranz when he dropped a clear plastic bag in the cabin. They also claim there was a strong smell of marijuana when he left the lavatory. Blumenkranz claims he had the drug for medicinal purposes, but police still charged him with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Georgia Mom Arrested For Helping Young Son Get Tattoo

(Acworth, GA) — A Georgia mother is charged with criminal counts for allegedly helping her ten-year-old son get a tattoo. Gaquan Napier is at the center of the case and says he got the tattoo in honor of 12-year-old brother, who was killed two years ago. Chuntera Napier didn’t think there was anything illegal being done when she took her son to a tattoo artist for some skin ink of the brother’s old jersey number. It turns out there was indeed something illegal taking place and Napier is charged with child cruelty. Charges may also be filed against the artist.
