Vincent and I met two years ago at a Sports Bar here in Houston. By no means, was it love at first sight. I was out celebrating with my girlfriends after receiving my M.B.A.. He was having a night on the town with visiting family members. I was enjoying life in my new city. I was single and loving the freedom. I walked outside the Sports Bar and looked against the wall of the building and there he was. He came over, spit some game J (he’ll tell you it was A-1 game), and exchanged phone numbers. I didn’t expect him to call me. I honestly didn’t care if he’d call. I gave him my number as a mere formality. A couple of days later (I remember exactly where I was), Vincent called me. I was driving 45S exiting 249 at about 2ish when I got the call. J We exchanged pleasantries and spoke for a moment only to end the call shortly thereafter. Later in the week, I texted him to meet me after work at The Grand Lux in the Galleria. Now, I am normally very shy. But something gave me the courage to extend the invitation. I arrived before he did, but I had to sit in the car just to be sure I didn’t have on beer goggles when I originally met him. J I didn’t. The moment I sat at the bar and conversation began, I knew there was something about him that was magnetic. He is different. Unexplainable. I have told many people, “I just cannot put it into words. It’s something about him that is beautiful. He has a beautiful aura; and to try and put it into words wouldn’t do it justice”. Weeks following that meeting, I was hooked. I remember texting him and saying “Get off of my mind.” He said I was running game ((and I was)) J, but it was true. I couldn’t stop thinking about him. We talked on the phone often, spent a lot of time together, fell in love, moved in together, and here we are two years later. After a chance encounter, we have created a beautiful family together. Vince’s 17 year old daughter (from another relationship) came to live with us. She became my daughter as much as she is already his. And on August 23, 2009 we welcomed our beautiful little baby girl into the world “Madisyn Collins”. An AMAZING father to his girls, makes him that much more desirable. On Saturday, June 5, 2010 we are solidifying our love and commitment to one another when we recite our vows of marriage.
Two people who came from two different places, with two different lives, has created one beautiful love story. We are truly blessed in more ways than one and I cannot thank God enough. On every letter, on every card, on every text and email, I always end it by saying……”Until the day after forever, Love Jen”
Our forever has just begun……..
It would be a pleasure to win the tickets to the All About Love Valentine’s Show. My birthday is Friday, Feb. 12th . What better way to celebrate with the man who stole my heart a few years ago, listening to two amazing artists of romanticism. Kem and Eric Benet.
