Nope, this isn’t a movie plot, this really happened to a contractor in Corpus Christi whose name is not being released.
The man was at the Bank of America to fix the door lock of the ATM room, but he made a couple of eras like leaving the device needed to open the door from the inside and his phone in his worker’s truck.

“We have a once in lifetime situation that you will probably never see or hear again,” said Corpus Christi Police Senior Officer Richard Olden.
Most customers thought it was a joke, but the police were eventually notified after one of several notes that the contractor had slipped in with the customer’s withdrawals receipts were taken seriously.
His notes read, “Please Help I’m stuck in here and I don’t have my phone. Please call my boss at 210-***-****.”
The officers didn’t really believe it themselves, but as Officer Olden said, “We come out here, and sure enough we can hear a little voice coming from the machine. So we are thinking this is a joke. It’s got to be a joke.”
Lucky for him he was only inside for a two hours before the police rescued him. They had to kicked down the door to get him out and his supervisor eventually showed up too.
Officer Olden said, “Everyone is okay, but you will never see this in your life, that somebody was stuck in the ATM, it was just crazy.”
