It happened at a McDonald’s restaurant in Missouri, Kansas, the manager refused to interview a deaf job applicant because he was deaf.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) made the announcement on Tuesday saying regarding the settlement.
The EEOC stated that the guy had applied online in 2012 for work at the Belton, Missouri location.
The young man had a lot on his side since he even has previous McDonald’s work experience as a cook and cleanup person from another McDonald’s in different state too.

The lawsuit that was filed by the EEOC says that when the female manager learned that the application would need a sign language interpreter, she canceled the interview.
That was even after the guy was guy’s sister offered to interpret for him to the manager in his interview too.

McDonald’s Statement:

“Committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce, including employing people with disabilities. It also disputes the EEOC version of what happened, but is satisfied with the settlement.”
