WHAT:  The NFL’s Kick Hunger Challenge to raise funds for hunger relief launches for the season in NFL cities across the country, and in Houston they will hold a Kick Hunger Pep Rally with Houston Food Bank on September 21, 6-9 pm.  Host for the event is JJ Moses, former Houston Texans NFL player and motivational speaker, and the pep rally will be followed by a volunteer shift. Also in attendance will be Houston Texans Cheerleaders, The Madd Hatta Morning Show from 97.9 The Box, and Miss Texas America Lereca Monik. 
 
The event is also part of the Houston Food Bank’s slate of activities for Hunger Action Month, when hunger relief organizations across the country issue a call to action on behalf of the millions of Americans who don’t have enough food, or enough nutritious food, to eat.
 
Special guest The Madd Hatta Morning Show from 979 The Box, Majic 102.1 and Boom 92.
·         E.L. Furr High School Color Guard will present the colors
·         HFB Hunger Relief team will attend
·         Lereca Monik, Miss Texas America, will speak on her experience with hunger
·         J.J. Moses will discuss the Kick Hunger Challenge and participants
·         Pasadena Memorial High School Drill Team and Cheerleaders will perform
·         South Houston High School Dance Team will perform
·         Baby Sonic Boom will perform and close out the show – drumline for The Rhodes Elementary School

This two-part series features build-your-own pizza paired with flights of craft beer. Flights included select brews from Houston’s most seasoned breweries as well as a few of the newest additions to our impressive local craft beer community.
