We often see these touching stories in the news, but they never get old do they?
It started when he just 19 months old when Little Trucker Dukes was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma.
Trucker became a part of a clinical trial at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (In New York City) for brain relapse in Neuroblastoma patients.
Due to this, he and his momma Shauna Dukes travel back and forth between Maui and New York City in order for Trucker to receive his treatments.

The two of them do this while Trucker’s three older siblings and Dad stay behind in Maui, Hawaii, where Trucker’s dad is a Maui firefighter and his siblings attend school at.
The FDNY relationships began one day when Shauna and Trucker were walking down a Manhattan street in New York City. That was the day that they met FDNY Captain Jim Grismer.
Capt. Grismer says it best, “I see this little boy excitedly walking towards me with his big eyes aglow. I opened my arms and he basically climbed up and hugged me around the next. It was as if we’ve been friends or brothers for years.”
After their first encounter, Capt. Grismer and the other firefighters started invited Trucker over to their firehouse for regular visits.
And when it was time for Trucker’s third birthday, the FDNY Engine 22, Ladder 13 and Battalion 10 decided to host a party at the firehouse to celebrate the boy’s third birthday.
And if that wasn’t enough, on May 31st, the FDNY firefighters decided to make Trucker an honorary FDNY firefighter, they adopted him into their brotherhood.
Now, they’re trying to raise money for Truckers dad, Joshua and Trucker’s three siblings to attend Truckers honorary ceremony in New York City.
There is a website to help make donations for Truckers magical day too… just in case you want to. It goes directly to any Bank of Hawaii branch in the name of “Trucker Dukes Cancer Fund” or online here.
