Throughout my career I’ve worked for 3 radio stations in different cities that carried the Doug Banks syndicated show. Needless to say, we’ve known each other quite a long time. You may recognize his voice from Dallas or other cities that you have visited. He was an AMAZING talent! A radio legend! He had such a unique voice that you knew it was him everything single time. He would occasionally check on me, offer career advice and keep me uplifted during my trying times in radio. A mentor, a teacher and a friend. I wish I had made it back to the U92 reunion last year so I could have seen Doug one last time and told him how much he inspired me. Whew. Another reminder to give people their flowers while they are here. This is the 3rd person I’ve known this year to pass away from Diabetes. This is serious people. It always has been. We have to start taking better care of ourselves. Eating right, exercising and seeing the doctor is a MUST. There are so many diseases tearing our bodies apart and many of them come about because of our own poor choices. Maybe it’s time to ask yourself today what you can do better to take care of YOU? #RIPDOUGBANKS

This pic is from his birthday party in 2001 on one of the infamous WBLS-FM boat cruises in NYC. I’ll miss ya Doug!
